Do you ever think about what you would tell the younger version of yourself? As many of us get older, we tend to lose touch with our older selves and forget our old passions. Artist Pau Buscato cherishes the relationship he has with his older self. He launched ‘’Hopscotch’’, an ongoing photography project to capture the world through childlike imagination. “‘Hopscotch’ isn’t something that I planned,” Pau told votreART. “I simply began doing street photography the way I enjoyed most, without forcing any themes, letting go and being open to whatever my eyes would see in each moment. If the result is this playful view of our everyday life, it’s simply because that is who I am.” The approach he has to street photography is very spontaneous. It is an open process that needs complete full awareness and having fresh eyes all the time. He prefers to photograph things the way they are, and for what they can become. Pau’s photography journey first started during his international travels in England, USA, India, and other countries. He stated that his favorite shots were in London and NYC. If accommodation there weren’t costly, he would have spent more time there. His ability to have a broad imagination, being able to fantasize, and seeing the world through the eyes of the child, is an essential part of his work. He is planning to continue his photography projects and wants to keep traveling and photographing people all over the world. One thing for sure is that he will continue seeing the world as a child and will always capture this in his pictures.
